Murals and Public Art

I had the opportunity to help my friend Shayla with a rather large indoor mural.  Our mutual friend Gentry opened his own store and has a large event space in the back; so much blank wall to cover! I am not responsible for the design of the mural.  My duties on this job were to aid in the perspective (those corners can be obnoxiously tricky) and to fill-in all those chess pieces as Shay drew them up on the wall.  It was a great experience.  I hope to work with Shayla on future projects.

This is the first project I have worked on since moving back to Seattle.  Bruce, the owner of the West Seattle Produce Company wanted an unfinished background, with the mountains of the Pacific Northwest and vintage produce signs.

His vision for the mural is different than my typical style of art, but I loved the challenge and am quite proud of the work I did.

The plan is to do two more murals for his new indoor market.

I especially like the mountains!  They were my favorite part to paint!
